HeidelbergSina-lg14 years ago, Sina Printing was a small company with a storefront and a 2-colour press. Today, the business operates out of its new 60,000 sq. ft. location in Markham. Sina's 65 employees turn out an impressive 750 orders per day.

The company needed a new press to go with its new location, and after carefully considering all press vendors, decided on a Heidelberg Speedmaster. Mike Meshkati, company GM, said: "Although we have Heidelberg presses already, technology has evolved enough in the past years to give us cause to look at all the press vendors. In the end, we still felt that Heidelberg was the right choice for us. We looked at both the XL 105 and the CX102 models and chose the CX 102. The platform is the same as our CD 102 and SM 102 presses, so all our consumable needs stay the same. It also offers flexibility in production."

The CX model press that Sina chose is capable of running 16,500 sheets per hour. Supporting the increased speed of the press are several key technologies that can be found on Heidelberg's Speedmaster XL 105 press, such as: Preset Plus Feeder and Delivery, XL 105 gripper and transfer technology, XL 105 Series Coating and Drying capabilities and the Intellistart Operating System.

"The presetting capabilities of this press are really impressive," adds Mike. "We haven't had it long enough to have an exact figure on increased performance, but we expect it to be significant. And when we need speed, it is effortless."
