Bobst and its new CL 750D compact laminator is aimed at printers and converters looking for “more efficient duplex lamination solutions.” Michele Vitiello, Head of BOBST Gravure and Lamination Product Line said: “The CL 750D is the result of our many decades of experience in lamination technology. This has enabled us to present a new laminating solution that makes the acknowledged quality of Bobst’s advanced laminating solutions available in a compact, easy-to-use and competitively priced machine.”

The CL 750D offers manufacturing quality and functionalities “that are not usual in this category of products,” the company said. Its drying tunnel has driven rollers and a straight web path, which means ideal web transportation without scratches or tension inconsistencies on all kinds of substrates including metallic films. Each nozzle bar is easy to extract for cleaning procedures. Its “Zero Waste” technology allows immediate productivity without any waste at start-up. “The transfer roller performs adhesive transfer curves that guarantee homogeneous thickness at any speed and during speed changes – which means users get the best, most consistent laminating quality,” said the OEM.

The transfer roller on the CL 750D utilizes a sleeve-type system that’s light, accessible and easy to use, and is of the type normally available on premium laminators. The CL750D can adapt to some of the existing transfer rollers on the market, adding flexibility in manufacturing where plants also have other laminating lines. To further enhance accessibility and ease of operation, the extraction and exchange of process trolleys for solventless and solvent-based lamination is on the operator side. This allows for a very compact machine footprint and efficient handling operations when cleaning the process unit.
