Xeikon’s two new toners, MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver, will enable more creative possibilities for designers as well as label and package printers and converters, said the OEM. The luxury-look MatteSilver and PalladiumSilver toners are the first products in the new Xeikon Creative Colors toner group which “recognizes and explores the added value that special effects bring to label and packaging print, especially in the consumer products arena.” MatteSilver offers a rich, luxurious metal finish to the print substrate while PalladiumSilver – uniquely available for digital print in the Xeikon portfolio – features a speckled silver sparkle for extra textural impact.

“With this new Creative Colors toner line, Xeikon is mirroring the capabilities of flexo and offset inks,” said Jeroen Van Bauwel, Director of Product Management at Xeikon. “We’re giving label and packaging printers and converters the opportunity to offer brand owners added-value haptic and optic qualities with the Xeikon digital print process – popular features of brand promotion and marketing across the globe today. The Creative Colors toner line adds an exciting extra dimension to our recognized strengths in the label and packaging print arena – shorter runs, extended product variants and faster delivery times than conventional processes, and of course, personalization. They really make a design stand out.”

xeikonmetallictoners1-inThe new toners complement Xeikon’s existing toner portfolio that includes standard CMYK, off-the-shelf spot colours (which allow for a gamut expansion beyond CMYK), custom spot colours (for unique colours based upon LAB values), and technical colours (that perform specific functions such as one-pass opaque white, UV reflecting clear, or security colours that reflect to a specific spectrum or contain certain taggents). Creative Colors is a new group within this portfolio and these toners offer the same benefits as all of Xeikon’s toner in terms of food safety, lightfastness and eco-friendliness, Xeikon added.
