Dalim Software, makers of scalable software solutions for the creation, production and management of cross-media content, has announced a partnership with Canon to offer users of digital web-fed printing systems the Dalim ES (Enterprise Solution) integrated media production platforms. In expanding its production workflow portfolio with Dalim ES technology, Canon offers users of Canon digital printers the ability to increase the level of workflow automation with an interactive and easy-to-use software environment. Both companies are currently working on the worldwide implementation of the agreement.
Océ/Canon is a world leader in imaging solutions, offering industrial-scale continuous-feed inkjet technologies for print production for many years. In combination with Canon’s workflow platform PRISMAproduction, the Canon printer portfolio can address all requirements of today’s complex and highly diverse application environments, said the OEM. Canon continuous-feed digital colour printers offer near-offset quality production printing for corporate applications, print service providers, book publishers and commercial printers.
Dalim ES is an integrated media production platform comprising Media Asset Management (MAM) and elaborate collaboration tools. It offers a complete solution for the management and production of the many aspects of media services, regardless of the type of final output. Brand owners and retailers need efficient communication with all parties involved in the media production cycle, said Dalim. Parties involved in this creation process (marketers, designers and producers) save time by conducting advanced searches through the ES integrated MAM. Enterprise resource planning and business process management tools, along with a streamlined technical workflow, form a highly flexible centralized platform for all stakeholders in the media production process.
“Canon presses and solutions for print production are a smart investment, particularly with the ever-increasing use of digital to satisfy commercial print’s demand for short runs – including personalization,” said Dr. Carol Werlé, Dalim Software CEO. “We’re excited to combine forces with Canon to bridge the digital gap with print buyers. Our primary objective is to provide users of Canon presses a platform to easily deliver remote client collaboration and approval. We have learned from our customer base that visible, easily accessed customer service fosters long-term relationships. And, beyond providing job updates, Dalim ES extends into asset management and also allows seamless integration into ERP systems.”
“The Océ digital presses are very fast and with the workflow, speed is everything to ensure that the presses are ‘fed’ to minimize idle times,” said Andreas Wagner, Business Development Director at Dalim Software.
“While the Océ PRISMAproduction Server is a very efficient platform for press operators, the Dalim ES system provides a very user-friendly interface for print buyers, allowing access to the workflow from any kind of device, be it a workstation or a mobile device,” he added.
