Riso’s latest advance in high-speed colour printing, its new ComColor GD Series of professional inkjet printers, delivers prints speeds up to 160 pages per minute. Premiering last September at Graph Expo 2016, the series is designed to meet the demands of high-volume, variable-data printing for direct mail and transactional printing – delivering high-speed data processing to large-volume, complex documents. The new ComColor GD series is equipped with an embedded GDI controller, and supports two optional controllers. The PS-Kit is an embedded true Adobe Postscript RIP that supports Windows, Mac and Linux. It also provides support for printing from mobile devices and PDF printing from USB flash drives. The series handles a broad range of paper, card stock and envelopes, with paper weights ranging from 12-lb. bond to 56-lb. bond.

risocomcolorgd1-inThe ComColor GD Series also introduces gray as a fifth colour for better reproduction of pastels, skin tones and “an exceptional grayscale print quality.” Newly formulated black increases the density over previous models, providing deeper and richer blacks. New high-intensity magenta ink provides an expanded gamut with vibrant colours. ComColor inkjet printers utilize the OEM’s patented Forcejet technology found exclusively in the ComColor product line. This heatless imaging system has a short, straight paper path – enabling extremely high printing speeds in full colour and a cold, flat and dry output that’s ideal for transition to finishing equipment.
