Canon U.S.A.’s imagePrograf iPF670E, a new 5-colour dye/pigment printer, is a 24″ model in the OEM’s iPF670 series ideal for the printing of CAD/GIS documents, posters, graphics, and larger-sized business documents. Designed to compete in the low-cost, low-volume 24” market, it offers speeds approximately 20% faster than its competition, said Canon. Aimed at improving accessibility for entry-level operations, it comes with a total of 540 ml of ink, “differentiating it from competitors that offer less than 100 ml of ink to start with, for similar devices.”

The new iPF670E uses a 5-colour dye and pigment ink system with C, M, Y, BK, and MBK. It utilizes two types of black ink: MBK for a dense black tones on plain paper, and BK for glossy media – to enable high image quality for poster printing. Additionally, these new devices offer large, 90-ml ink tanks for all colours that are “more than double that of the competition.” Also, available free for download for the imagePrograf iPF670E is the following software, not offered by competing devices, said the OEM:

  • Accounting Manager – keeps track of ink and media costs.
  • PosterArtist Lite – brings graphic design needs in-house to create posters with ease.
  • Print Plug-in for Microsoft Office – allows users to integrate directly with core Microsoft applications for streamlined workflow.
  • Direct Print & Share – allows the end user to drag and drop files to hot folders to easily print large-format files.
