At the recently concluded 35th annual Gutenberg Gala in Montreal, that celebrates the best in printing in the province of Quebec, Pazazz Printing won the technical challenge in the self-marketing category for its project Pop Art. Pazazz’s in-house graphic artists designed and produced a unique branded marketing piece to showcase both its digital and flexo label capabilities in one elegant piece. The celebrated Coup de Coeur people’s choice was also awarded to Pazazz for its Digital Experience 2 printed book. Pazazz President Warren Werbitt, joined on stage by his designers and production partners, accepted the award and thanked his entire team for making the book a reality. Werbitt called this digital project his “pride and joy” and encouraged all of his competitors “to combine their machinery and create self-promo printed pieces to show customers what we can do and take a step forward.” Recognized for being the most prestigious award of the evening, the winners were selected by peers, competitiors and suppliers within the printing industry. Participants were invited to vote for their favourite piece during the cocktail party where the submitted print projects were on full display. Vote counting was done by student graduates from the graphic communications programs at Collège Ahuntsic, who attended.
