Enfocus releases Switch 2018 Update 2

Enfocus (Gent, Belgium) a leader in PDF quality control, advanced PDF editing and workflow automation for the printing and graphic arts industry, has released Switch 2018 Update 2. This latest version delivers several feature additions and customer-requested changes and fixes. Input received from customers during its Switch World Tour events weighed heavily in the development of this update, said the company. Highlights of the Switch 2018 Update 2 include an online, opt-in Insight Dashboard, improvements to the designer and several flow elements, additional features in job boards, and numerous performance enhancements.

Online Switch Insight Dashboard. Maintenance customers who opt-in for sharing usage data with Enfocus are now being offered a free online Insight Dashboard. The dashboard gives users a weekly overview of their Switch processing. It includes statistics regarding the number of files processed, which types of flow elements were used, how files were received and much more.

Switch Designer improvements. There are several improvements to the Switch Designer and Flow Elements (for example, more intuitive pop-up tool tips when hovering over a “condition with variables” parameter). The tool tip now displays the value of the conditional variable. There are also specific flow element updates in this latest release. The Database Connect element now includes major speed improvements. The Assemble Job, Mail Send and Problem Jobs elements also now include additional functionality to simplify flow design.

New Job Board and Dashboard features. Both for job boards and dashboards, it’s now possible to share boards with the groups the user is a member of. Additionally, users in the administrator group can share with all available groups. Next, the ability to apply a pie chart style to History Graphs has been added. It’s now possible to give a status to folders at the end of a flow that allows job boards to contain a “Finished” count for a flow.

Other important updates and bug fixes. Searchability in the Submit Points of the Switch Web Portal is now possible, rendering instant results. In the Job Client, filtering by Job State is now supported. Scripting improvements have also been made to webhook requests and dataset extensions. A complete list of bug fixes is available from Enfocus and provided in the update documentation.
