Komcan (Georgetown, Ontario), Komori’s exclusive dealer in Canada, has installed a new Komori GLX 6 41-inch colour offset press at Produlith Packaging in its Boucherville, Quebec production facility. “The press comes with the highest level of automation and inspection systems available in the market today,” said the OEM. Some of those features include PQA-S sheet quality and colour control, PDC-X scanner, PDF comparator, and a full array of automation functions that improve productivity. The 18,000-sheet-per-hour press is capable of running up to 40-point board with fully automatic, non-stop delivery. Komori GLX presses can accommodate not only package printing, but also high-end commercial and publishing printing, due to their exceptional print quality and versatility. Their energy-conserving and space-saving design, along with reduced heat emissions, also provide benefits for the environment.

Produlith is a full-service folding carton and flexible packaging leader catering to the high-end pharmaceutical, food, beverage, cosmetic and folding carton markets. Founded in 1981, it’s a highly successful second-generation family-owned company headed by Shawn Desmarchais. “We’re extremely excited to be working with a company like Produlith, that has the same vision as all of us at Komcan and Komori,” said Komcan President Steve Ranson. “We enjoyed working with Shawn and his team on this exciting project.” Desmarchais added: “Working with Komcan has been a pleasure. Their professional approach and expertise made it easy for us to choose the ideal press for our present and future needs – as well one that will support our continuous growth.”
