The OEM’s new line includes two new systems offering up to 77 fpm printing speeds and an engine upgrade option available for current Mark Andy Digital One Press owners. The introductory Digital Pro 1 is a roll-to-roll version fitted with an unwind, print engine and rewind, providing a 12.5-inch print width. It was designed for converters looking to simplify digital print, but due to the modular nature of this press, also provides upgrade options for inline printing and converting. The hybrid model, the Digital Pro 3 Press, includes a multi-purpose flexo station for inline embellishment and has a DFE that supports variable-data printing and versioning needed in the short-run and the micro-run market segment. It can be configured with a single-slot die station or with a semi-rotary die module to finish labels inline. The semi-rotary system reduces die inventory and comes with a standard 19-inch magnetic cylinder.
“Printing digital at high speeds with inline converting is at the top of many converter’s wish lists. Same with roll-to-roll devices,” said Joe Calmese, Chief Business Officer at Mark Andy Digital. “And we’ve been listening. The end result is the Digital Pro line with configurable hybrid print systems that provide a powerful path to profitability, both now and in the future, as we continue to push the envelope in digital innovation.” Both Digital Pro systems are fueled by high-yield toner and support a wide range of substrates and applications with no priming or coating required. Additional media capabilities supported by the product line include vinyl, PVC and foil. Mark Andy also announced that current Digital One Press owners are eligible for a Digital Pro engine upgrade “increasing printing speed by 70% and cost effectiveness by 30%.
