DuPont Advanced Printing (Wilmington, Delaware) is celebrating the installation of its 1,500th DuPont Cyrel FAST Thermal Flexographic Plate Processing System. “Nearly 20 years ago, DuPont revolutionized flexible packaging with the introduction of the first thermal flexographic plate and processing system, named FAST because of how quickly a plate could be processed and ready for press,” said Sam Ponzo, Global Business Director at DuPont Advanced Printing. “Since that time, DuPont has been at the forefront of developing successive generations of equipment that provide better plate processing, higher reliability and even lower emissions. This 1,500th installation is a testament to the quality and value that our systems bring to printers and trade shops worldwide.”

The company added that “the current generation of Cyrel FAST systems now has one of the most advanced emissions systems available, reducing VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) by more than 98% versus solvent-based systems and providing emissions far below even the most stringent environmental regulations.” In addition to lower VOC emissions, the latest generation of DuPont Cyrel FAST thermal processors can reduce downtime due to lower maintenance requirements and remote diagnostic capabilities that were not available with previous generations of processors. Details of the location of the installation were not released.
