Beneco Packaging’s SoOpak Division earns top pharmaceutical award

Beneco Packaging (Mississauga, Ontario), a leading short-run North American wholesale packaging solutions provider (and its custom packaging division SoOpak), has won a 2018 Best Custom Medical Product Packaging Award from Global Health & Pharma (GHP), a worldwide information-sharing platform and a multi-disciplinary members’ community headquartered in Burton-on-Trent, England. The award is part of the 2018 Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Packaging Awards hosted by GHP-News. The awards recognize key players within the pharmaceutical packaging industry, with winners chosen through a combination of votes gathered from GHP’s network of industry partners, as well as its own detailed in-house research.

“We’re honoured to be chosen for this prestigious award,” said YaJun (Carol) Jiang, President of Beneco Packaging and SoOpak. “Here at SoOpak, we’ve been on the leading edge of offering custom packaging solutions. The package design process for custom medical products is complex and requires us to manufacture a customer’s package with the most rigorous quality standards. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of innovation, providing our clients’ custom medical packaging products with highlighted features and protection. We’re seeing significant growth in the medical and pharmaceutical market due to the number of new medications that continue to be introduced.”

SoOpak works closely with its customers to analyze the product and offer suggestions to enhance and find the best packaging configuration. Its employees learn how the medical product will be used and in what type of environment. SoOpak team members help to design the medical packaging container – including the number of barriers, barrier material selection and the necessary data (such as usage instructions, label design and copy translation). “Custom packaging for medical products and devices needs to be sturdy, provide protection and project cleanliness and reliability,” Jiang added. “Our design team works with our clients to provide effective custom medical packaging. We’re equipped with the latest presses to deliver the high quality capabilities that make their vision a reality. If our customers also require an environmental solution, we’re able to manufacture eco-friendly custom boxes.”
